New Pattern Release
Since I can't wait to have someone take a good picture of my first official pattern, the good-old mirror selfie will have to do for now.
Say hello to the the Sierra Madre Shawl!
I wrote this pattern when I was home sick from work earlier this week. I had a bunch of left over Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn that I'd purchased to show others how to knit. It has good stitch definition and since it's so bulky, it's quite gratifying to complete something with it quickly.
I wanted to cast on a shawl, and as I looked around Ravelry, there didn't seem to be anything that I wanted to knit. So using the basics of a triangle shawl, I whipped this up, adding a little garter texture, some contrasting color and fringe for funsies. It was a quick knit too--the shawl was completed during my sick-day TV time. I was done with the contrasting color section after Rosemary's Baby (ZOMG) and I cast off the entire garment just after I finished a Netflix documentary called The Truth About Alcohol (unsurprisingly the truth was not "it's great for you, drink more!"). I left this beauty to block and stretch a li'lwhile I wrote up my notes into a pattern. I added fringe the next day.
I love it. It's gratifyingly quick for an advanced knitter, but simple enough for a beginner. And it's just fun and cozy.com.
I am reducing the price of this pattern to $1 for the first 30 days. I'm sure I'll find edits and get a better picture, but for now, please download and let me know what you think!
